Anti-Meta Worms [Deckguide] [WIP]
There are quite a few anti-meta decks, though all of them are pretty similiar. However, there's one type of anti-meta that was pretty overlooked until now. Release of EXVC will probably have people to take further look into this deck. It's not only pretty consistent, but also handles all types of decks easily, as it has pretty nice field control abilities. I'm talking about Worms, and how pro are they.

3 Worm Cartaros
3 Worm Xex
3 Worm Yagan
1 Effect Veiler
1 Honest
1 Meklord Emperor Wisel
1 Morphing Jar
1 Worm King
8
3 Pot of Duality
2 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Book of Moon
1 Dark Hole
1 Monster Reborn
18
3 Dimensional Prison
3 Offering to the Snake Deity
3 W Nebula Meteorite
2 Seven Tools of the Bandit
2 Solemn Warning
1 Mirror Force
1 Royal Oppression
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Trap Stun
Main engine of the deck. Cartaros is a walking Reinforcement of the Army, triggered by W Nebula Meteorite, or a simple attack. Would be a bit better without the Level limit, as it would be able to search Worm King or Queen if so, making them more playable, but it's an awesome card either way, as it fecthes one of most important cards in the deck.
Worm Xex and Worm Yagan are the main stars of the deck. They provide both field presence and control. Obvious combo is to use Xex to dump Yagan, and then Special Summon it. Xex also has pretty decent ATK, so it's not too fragile. Yagan's DEF is the same, so it's most likely that it will stay on the field after an attack. The cool thing in Yagan is that it works around Royal Oppression or Solemn Warning/Judgment. It's effect is Vayu-like, so it Special Summons itself during a resolution, so if it's effect is negated, it just stays in Grave, and can activate it again. Xex also has a secondary effect, which gives it battle protection when you control Yagan. You won't need it most of the time, but it's still pretty useful at times.
Despite of what most people think, Worm King is actually a pretty decent card. First of all, you can Tribute Summon it with only 1 Tribute if Tributing a Worm, so if you have a spare Yagan or Cartaros lying around, it can provide fooder for this card. Other way to get it out is to use W Nebula Meteorite, which is probably easier. It can exchange your Worms for field control, which is never bad.
I'm pretty sure I don't have to explain a lot here, as Honest is pretty much a staple for LIGHT-based decks. Not only gives your monsters an ability to run over the biggest beatsticks, but can also serve as a wall in pitch situations. By the way, my friend had a funny situation involving this card:
He was at pretty much losing position. He had only Worm Cartaros on the field, and his opponent had Shooting Star Dragon. He was sure he has no way to win, so for no reason he attacked Shooting Star with Cartaros. Then his opponent used Shooting Star's effect to negate the attack. He was sure my friend has Honest in his hand, while he actually didn't. As a result, he didn't attack for a long time. Then he lost.
Rest coming soon...

This really should be in the Rate My Deck section.

Honestly, I doubt. It's a deckguide, but a Worm discussion too

King isn't their proper boss. While it's decent, if not Meteorite, it would be unplayable

They are epic. I lost several times to them.
Meteorite is a great "boss" card.
Nice review.

It's a control deck. You basically hinder your opponent's move, and finish them off with a series of small attacks.Dog King wrote:Hmm how do you win most of the time?
